Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By joining KILN, you agree to these terms. KILN is an invite-only professional network — your continued membership is subject to adherence to these terms and the community standards they describe.

2. Membership

Membership requires a valid invitation from an existing member or acceptance from the waitlist by an administrator. Each member is responsible for the conduct of people they invite. Membership is personal and non-transferable.

3. Trust & Accountability

KILN operates on a trust tree model. When you invite someone, you vouch for their professionalism. If a member you invited engages in misconduct, your branch may be subject to moderation actions including warnings, suspension, or removal (“burning a branch”).

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Send unsolicited sales pitches or spam to other members
  • Misrepresent your skills, experience, or identity
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other members
  • Share or distribute other members' private information
  • Use the platform for any illegal purpose
  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits or security measures

5. Subscription & Billing

KILN costs £10 per month. New members receive a 14-day free trial. Payments are processed by Stripe. You may cancel at any time — access continues until the end of your billing period. Refunds are not provided for partial months.

6. Moderation

KILN administrators may take moderation actions including warnings, temporary suspensions, permanent removal, and branch burns. These actions are taken at the discretion of the administration team to maintain network quality and trust.

7. Content & IP

You retain ownership of all content you create on KILN (profile, messages, expertise descriptions). You grant KILN a licence to process this content for platform functionality, including generating AI embeddings for expertise matching.

8. Limitation of Liability

KILN is provided “as is”. We do not guarantee the accuracy of member profiles, the availability of the service, or the outcome of any professional connections made through the platform.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be communicated via email to all active members with at least 14 days' notice.
