1. What We Collect

When you join KILN or the waitlist, we collect the information you provide: your name, email address, LinkedIn URL, and expertise description. When you use the platform, we store your profile data, messages, search queries, and trust tree relationships.

2. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used to:

Generate AI embeddings of your expertise for search matching
Display your profile to other authenticated members
Process subscription payments via Stripe
Send transactional emails (invites, confirmations, billing)
Maintain the trust tree structure and moderation logs

3. Third-Party Services

We use Supabase (database and authentication), OpenAI (expertise embeddings), Stripe (payments), Resend (email), and Upstash (rate limiting). Each service processes only the minimum data required for its function. We do not sell or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.

4. Data Security

All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Authentication is handled by Supabase with JWT sessions. Row-level security policies ensure members can only access their own data and the profiles of other active members.

5. Data Retention

Your profile and messages are retained while your account is active. If you cancel your subscription, your profile is preserved but hidden from search. You may request full account deletion by contacting us.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. Contact privacy@kilnnetwork.com to exercise these rights.

7. Cookies

KILN uses essential cookies only — authentication session cookies required for the platform to function. We do not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or advertising cookies.

8. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to all active members.
